Student Support

We strive to build children's independence and resilience. We are committed to supporting the emotional and social wellbeing of all students, allowing them to develop emotional awareness, resilience, and strategies to manage day-to-day challenges

Our Main Priority

Student wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to nurturing the emotional and social development of every child, recognising that wellbeing is essential for learning and growth. Our approach is grounded in respect, empathy, and a deep understanding of each child’s individual needs. Whether a student is navigating a difficult moment or simply needs a space to talk, we are here to support them.

Individual Plans (IP's)

An Individual Plan (IP) is a personalised document developed for students who may benefit from additional support to help them succeed at school.

IPs are created in collaboration with students, families, school staff, and where relevant, external professionals. These plans outline a student’s strengths, interests, barriers to learning, and the adjustments or strategies that will be put in place to support them across the school environment.

Each IP includes:

  • A summary of the student’s strengths and interests

  • Identified barriers to learning or participation

  • Clear goals tailored to the student’s needs

  • Specific adjustments and supports used to help them achieve those goals

  • A plan for monitoring progress and regular review

IPs are flexible and responsive, meaning they are reviewed regularly and updated as needed to ensure the support continues to meet the student's needs.

By working together, we can ensure every student feels safe, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential.

If you have any questions about Individual Plans or believe your child may benefit from one, please contact your classroom teacher to discuss further. If you would like some more information, please don’t hesitate to contact our school counsellor or learning support team.

Access Counselling Support

Students and families are encouraged to reach out whenever support is needed.

If you child feels comfortable - they can self-refer to Sophie or Ruth. Otherwise, parents, carers and school staff can refer students

Support can range from one-off check-ins to ongoing sessions, depending on the needs of the student.

The school counsellor works closely with staff and families where appropriate, always prioritising the best interests and wellbeing of each child. The aim is to help students develop emotional awareness, resilience, and strategies to manage day-to-day challenges—ensuring they feel heard, supported, and empowered in their school environment.

If you would like to learn more or discuss support for your child, please feel free to contact the school office or speak directly with the counsellor.
